Very cool 3d art here, I gotta say. I like the outfits, the characters, the environment, and well, everything!
Centcomm 28th Oct 2012, 12:21 AM edit delete reply
Aww thank you ! Its based on the RPG I played in as well .. just modified to not get me in trouble :D

Probable takes the sweat of a half naked elf to activate… o_O

Any significance to the magic blue ring's design?
Centcomm 28th Oct 2012, 1:56 AM edit delete reply
yes .. all the spells used in this are broken up into "classes" the spell shes useing is a "mental" based spell therefore blue..there are 3 prymary groups and several subgroups with minor and major variations .. the Staff used "holy" energy - gold in color - the skeleton used negitive .. thats black and purple colors Tama has used several spells from the Distruction and Air line.
thus green and blue/white

Humm "sweat of a naked elf. " I like that :D
cattservant 28th Oct 2012, 4:49 AM edit delete reply
Would the 'color' be effected by which half was naked?
Centcomm 28th Oct 2012, 4:51 AM edit delete reply
heh the top half would be more pink than the bottom but the bottom would REALLY be blushing !
cattservant 28th Oct 2012, 5:04 AM edit delete reply
Probably more heat too.

You're up in the deep and dark this morning!
Is the lunar gravitating you?
Centcomm 28th Oct 2012, 5:06 AM edit delete reply
may be
cattservant 28th Oct 2012, 5:19 AM edit delete reply
It wouldn't have to be just top or bottom either.
Sonya's dress is heading in a half direction already.
Centcomm 28th Oct 2012, 5:24 AM edit delete reply
heheh that it is! hopfully its warm :D
cattservant 28th Oct 2012, 5:27 AM edit delete reply
If she can generate that much light, a little heat shouldn't be difficult.

Centcomm 29th Oct 2012, 4:04 PM edit delete reply

I make it a point to upvote both Datachasers and Luna Star every day if I can, and By Staff and Sword deserves the same credit. I am so glad I discovered your work; it is truly engaging and spell-binding. Please keep up the excellent work! :D

When people compliment "your" models, don't forget to mention DAZ3D Productions and DAZ Studio. :D
After all, you don't want n00bs assuming you took the time to model the figures on your own (how painful would that be?) Great story, so far, I wish that it would be updated more frequently, though.
Also, simply out of curiosity: Aren't Alchemists potion brewers and mixers? Artificers deal with magical artifacts & curses and whatnot. I might be wrong, but I would think "magic" would be the last thing one smells stepping into an Alchemist's shoppe. Closer to ragweed and sulfur. Lol.
Keep up the great work!
Centcomm 1st Nov 2012, 12:17 AM edit delete reply
you havent played the game this is based on rolemaster, Alchemmists make magical items and such they deal with a LOT of magic .. ( and its true I dont create the base meshes- however I do put a lot of effort into shaping and texturing them and such! ) im also responceable for lighting .and poses/ placement and camera work *winks*
Visioneer 1st Nov 2012, 3:09 PM edit delete reply
Oh, yeah, in no way am I trying to downplay all the work you do, I've *just* been able to start to incorporating backgrounds effectively into my images, and toying with morph dials is a pain in the arse (hence the reason I prefer ZBrush for my morphs) I was just saying that it is important to appropriately credit fairly. Even if its on the about page (character textures used, props, hair, etc.etc.)
As good as Datachasers is, rock this story, yo!
Centcomm 1st Nov 2012, 3:11 PM edit delete reply
this is why i have ,links to DAZ and renderostiy on my Links page on datachasers. because a full credits page would be BOOKS.

And also most people that use this kind of softwear dont even admit it half the time - I dont mind crediting people who have done custom work for the comic(s) such as your self but no im not going to be making a exhastive list of everything in my runtimes .. sorry.

Loving your art. The angle in the second panel is cool - especially like the way she appears to almost be reaching out of the panel.
